Testimonials

From our students:

"Even without prior musical experience, it's amazing how simple and gratifying this little 4-string instrument is. It has given me a whole new lease on life!"

Paula, Ukes on the Move! Student

"Our daughter has loved learning ukulele with Ukes on the Move! She's enjyed the classes very much and can't wait to learn more. Liz (Brinker) has been a great teacher."
Meredith Cabe, parent of Ukes on the Move! student

"This was so great. Would be very interested to take this class again sometime. Great teacher - Loved her! Thanks for offering!"
Adult Ukes on the Move! student

And a poem! by one of our uke students....

WHO KNEW WHAT THE UKE COULD DO?
by Stew Hickman -- to the tune of "I'm A Believer" by Neil Diamond, recorded by The Monkees in 1966

I thought chords were only true in fairy tales
Meant for someone else but not for me.
What's the use of trying?
Such a lofty dream
Nothing I could ever hope to reach.

Then I learned the uke!
Now I'm a believer!
I can sing and play
Any song on my mind.

I know chords!  OOOOH!
Now it's "Gad Zooks, man!"
You are the UKE-Man"
Carpe Diem!

From educators:

“The ukulele program is an excellent opportunity to expose our students to something not typically found on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. It is great to bring other parts of the world into their small part of the world. This is an excellent example of how partnerships in the community work for the best interest of our students.”
Kelly Griffith, Superintendent, Talbot County Public Schools

“We are thrilled that our fifth-graders were given this opportunity. This type of program increases student engagement and achievement. We are especially grateful to the organizations that provided funding of the workshop.”
Joyce Crow, Principal, Tilghman Elementary School
