Back to the Garden
A Tribute to Woodstock
Woodstock provided half a million people with music of many genres, across three days – outside. This time, during the year of its 50th anniversary, we focus on the songs from that seminal event, along with well known American anthems that inspire hope for peace, justice, and unity, in one evening of rousing music you can sing along to – inside! From folk to rock-n-roll, the stellar line-up includes Walter Parks, who toured for nine years with Richie Havens; soulful rocker Kentavius Jones; Chris Noyes, the new glorious vocalist for Ocean Orchestra; WAMMIE-award winner singer-songwriter Lilo Gonzalez accompanied by the DC Labor Chorus; Brooke Parkhurst and Rowan
Corbett (formerly of Carolina Chocolate Drops); and Downwire, a local band that promises to rock your socks off. Warm up your pipes and be prepared to join in on the grand finale.
Ticket prices vary from free (if you are under two years old and sitting on
someone’s lap) to $5 for MC students to $20 for general public (reserved
seating). October 12, 7:30pm, Montgomery College Cultural Center, 7995 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20910
