DUO BLANCO Y NEGRO DE CUBA

Sunday, May 26, 2019, 5:00 pm

One-hour concert followed by wine and cheese reception with the artists.

Contemporary Tapestry Weaving Studio & Gallery

5592 Poplar Lane

Royal Oak, MD 21662

(near the Bellevue landing of the Oxford Ferry)

Take a trip to Cuba with Dúo Blanco y Negro.  Enjoy the polyrhythmic percussion, guitars, melodious melodies and vocal harmonies of Yenobis Delgado and Edwin Rivera, and experience Cuban music, considered by many to be one of the richest and most influential musics of the world.

The reception and concert setting alone are worth the price of admission. Delight in the beauty of Ulrika Leander’s tapestry studio and gallery. Make it an afternoon outing and include the 10-minute ferry crossing to Oxford and back to Bellevue, on the oldest, privately owned and operated Oxford Ferry, established in 1683.  Visit historic Oxford and treat yourselves to ice cream cones at the famous Scottish Highland Creamery on the harbor, or the General Store on Morris Street, across from the beautiful waterside park.

Tickets are $25, or $15 for students and low-income; or free in exchange for volunteer hours in support of Carpe Diem Arts.
